Libyan Center for Research & Studies

The Center was established on July 1, 2018, to be an independent center for research and studies in the social and human sciences. It consists of a group of departments and units, organized by its general structure, which constitute its means and tool for the success of its programs and activities, and for supervising them, which were defined within an integrated vision, noble goals, and a lofty message, the goal of which is to build the human being in Libya culturally, psychologically, and socially.

Vision

Amidst the rapidly changing and often unstable circumstances in Libya and the broader Arab and Islamic world, the Libyan Research and Studies Center recognizes the urgent need for organized and committed work to achieve its objectives—focusing primarily on the Libyan individual and, more broadly, on the Arab person.
The Center strives to foster knowledge exchange and skill development among young people across Arab nations, with special attention to empowering Libya’s ambitious youth.

This vision is built upon in-depth study and careful analysis of Libya’s current landscape. The Center aspires to contribute to positive change by promoting scientific, research-based approaches that support state institutions and official bodies in driving progress, fostering dialogue, and aligning their efforts with those of research centers and civil society organizations.
Ultimately, the Center seeks to help Libyan society achieve stability, prosperity, and progress comparable to other developing nations.

Objectives

The Libyan Research and Studies Center is committed to collaborative, transparent, and internationally aligned research practices. Its main objectives include:

1- Promoting citizenship, national identity, and the preservation of religious and cultural values.

2- Encouraging participation, positivity, and responsibility in addressing current challenges and developments.

3- Investing in human potential, developing skills, and nurturing young talent across disciplines.

4- Fostering cooperation with governmental and non-governmental institutions, and facilitating knowledge exchange with local, regional, and international research centers.

5- Conducting scientific studies on Libyan society’s issues and challenges to propose practical and evidence-based solutions.

6- Monitoring social trends and transformations in Libya to better understand and anticipate societal change.

7- Promoting rational crisis management and supporting Libya’s transition toward a modern, participatory state.

8- Supporting democratic transformation, dialogue, and national reconciliation by organizing conferences, seminars, and academic forums that bring diverse viewpoints together and draw lessons from successful post-conflict nations.

9- Conducting statistical and documentary studies, creating data repositories relevant to its programs and areas of interest.

10- Publishing academic journals, reports, and conference proceedings, and reprinting approved or recommended works of scholarly value.
