New release from the center
Yesterday, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, a book entitled (Historian Ammar Muhammad Jahidar, a research experience, a memorial book) was released. It contains the proceedings of the scientific symposium organized by the center on July 17, 2019 in the city of Tripoli. The book is 358 pages long, medium size, and includes ten research papers, three contemporary testimonies, and an extended dialogue conducted by Professor, writer and author Hussein Al-Mazdawi with historian Ammar Jahidar. The book came as a result of an honorary symposium in the summer of 2019 in appreciation of the career of historian, investigator and researcher Professor Ammar Jahidar. It is a good tradition that the center has established to honor Libyan scholars and researchers. It is the least that can be offered to Professor Ammar in return for his pioneering scientific efforts in studying our cultural history for more than four continuous decades. We believe that this book will be a reference for studying the heritage and works of Professor Jahidar. The participating researchers have worked hard to provide readings in many of his works, and the extended dialogue that Professor Hussein accomplished was Al-Mazdawi with the historian Ammar about the Libyan diaries is the best conclusion to the book, as he revealed many facts and information that are of interest to researchers interested in the book The Libyan Diaries, which he achieved and published in two volumes. On this important cultural occasion, the Libyan Center for Research and Studies seizes the opportunity to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to all the researchers who contributed to the book, who are friends of the honored figure, and to the book’s editors, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Ghatmi and Mr. Jamal Duwish, for their efforts in collecting, editing and reviewing, and thanks to Engineer Salem Abdel Salam Ramadan, Chairman of the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation, for his diligent follow-up until the book saw the light. The book will be available in bookstores after the holy month of Ramadan.
